Free Acupuncture for New Hampshire Veterans

Dear Veteran,

My name is Louis Bornstein. I am a Licensed Acupuncturist in New Hampshire offering services to our Veterans through the VA Healthy Choice Program. With over 15 years of clinical experience, I have treated a wide spectrum of patients. The styles of Acupuncture I practice are clinically useful for Veterans experiencing any type of pain or trauma. These include symptoms as varied as phantom limb pain, PTSD, or your basic back and knee pains.

If you are a Veteran and you think would benefit from Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine I would be honored to treat you. The program allows New Hampshire Veterans to either self-refer or come in under the PC3 program with a doctor’s referral.

I know that many Veterans are looking for alternatives to more medications. Acupuncture offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere to allow the body and mind to escape the flight or fight response induced by pain and many of our modern day stressors. The Army has been using Auricular Acupuncture for years to treat symptoms of PTSD, and for the reduction of inflammation during transport of Veterans out of combat areas.

The Pain Management Task Force, formed in 2009 by the Army, included several branches of the military and the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). These members visited sites, collected data, and consulted with experts in pain medicine to develop 109 recommendations for comprehensive pain treatment. Acupuncture was placed as Tier 1 (top tier) complimentary therapy for pain relief.

Acupuncture has been shown to induce an endorphin-like response in the body and has been very helpful in allowing addicts to lower and come off of opiates and other drugs. I completed a clinical rotation at the Lincoln Hospital in NYC treating such addicts in 1990.

Veterans access the program through the Healthy Choice Hotline by contacting Healthy Choice at 1-844-206-8002. Healthy Choice will then contact me to set up appointments at my office in Hampton, NH. If you have questions about Acupuncture and related services, you can contact me directly, Louis Bornstein, 603-997-6784. In addition to Acupuncture, I incorporate yoga therapy, body awareness, and mindfulness techniques, as well as many hands on therapies to additionally reduce stress, tension, and pain.

All New Hampshire Veterans are eligible for the program including Tri-Care recipients. I very much look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,
Louis Bornstein, L.Ac.
